Website Terms of Use
Last updated: March 2026
Plain-English summary
This site is a platform — not a law firm. We connect your registration to the right firm via your Passport ID. Using the site means you agree to these terms.

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Platform and communications service
By using Claims Passport, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Claims Passport is a technology platform — not a law firm, legal practice, or claims handling service
- Use of the platform does not create a solicitor-client relationship, retainer, or fiduciary relationship with us
- We route registrations to law firm partners but do not provide legal advice
- Eligibility screening is an AI-assisted preliminary assessment — not a legal determination
- The receiving law firm makes the final decision on whether to accept your matter
Handling of personal information
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Privacy Collection Notice.
Technical safeguards include envelope encryption (per-record keys via GCP KMS), contact isolation (sites and firms never hold raw contact), and data minimisation (preferred name + one contact method only).
Client contact and platform messaging
Claims Passport may contact you via:
- Magic links (SMS or email) for verification and access
- Platform inbox messages from participating services
- Forwarded notifications to your registered contact (if opted in)
We may use AI-assisted communication tools to support platform operations. You can pause or stop forwarded messages at any time from your Passport Dashboard.
User content
Submitting information
You may submit information through the Site, including intake answers, contact enquiries, and registration details ("User Content").
Licence to use User Content
By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, and process that content for the purposes described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
User responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring that any User Content you submit is accurate, complete, and does not infringe the rights of any third party.
Our rights
We reserve the right to remove, edit, or refuse to publish any User Content that we consider inappropriate, inaccurate, or in breach of these Terms.
Data retention
User Content is retained for as long as your Passport is active, or as required by law. You can delete your Passport and all associated data at any time.
Third party sites and services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those sites. Linking does not imply endorsement.
Claims Passport may receive commissions, referral fees, or other benefits from law firm partners in connection with registrations routed through the platform. This does not affect the accuracy or independence of eligibility screening.
Our liability is limited
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Site, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Reliance on information provided through the Site
- Interruption or unavailability of the Site
- Actions of third parties, including law firm partners
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
What happens if we discontinue the Site
We may suspend, modify, or discontinue the Site (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you for any suspension or discontinuation.
Which laws govern these Terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and any courts that may hear appeals from those courts.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time by publishing the revised version on this page. The updated Terms will apply from the date of publication. Continued use of the Site after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
