Robodebt Compensation
The Australian Government's automated welfare debt scheme — known as Robodebt — was found to be unlawful. The scheme used income averaging to incorrectly calculate debts owed by welfare recipients. Further proceedings may be available for those who suffered psychological harm or financial loss as a result of receiving an unlawful debt notice.
Who may be affected
Australians who received automated welfare debt notices under the unlawful Robodebt scheme, particularly those who experienced financial loss or psychological harm.
